Driver/Warehouse – medical card required
DEPARTMENT: Waukesha, WI 53186
REPORTS TO: Store Manager
GRADE: Hourly – OT available
HOURS: 730a/8am – 4p/5p, M-F, Sat. 9a-noon once a month
Summary:
This position is responsible for delivering materials to the customer, which includes assistance with loading/unloading, ensuring delivery of ticket with material, and collecting payment, if necessary, while complying with all DOT (Department of Transportation) and Company standards and regulations that may apply. When not out on deliveries, working in the warehouse cleaning, organizing, and assisting where needed is part of this job.
Essential Responsibilities:
● Perform all functions in compliance with DOT regulations, state reporting agencies and company safety rules
● Complete daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections, fuel the truck as needed, and report any problems or issues to supervisor
● Gather appropriate paperwork for deliveries; i.e., invoices, COD paperwork, etc.
● Responsible for weight limits on trucks and report any issues to manager
● Provide professional and courteous communications with customers and report any complaints or issues to manager
● Verify all safety equipment and straps assigned to vehicle for proper working order
● Maintain cleanliness of vehicle and report any maintenance problems to manager
● Assist warehouse personnel in loading and unloading material and verifying material loaded matches delivery orders
● Assist in warehouse as directed by manager when not assigned deliveries
● Perform other job-related duties as assigned to or as operational needs dictate
● Regular reliable attendance is an essential requirement for the job
Qualifications:
· Be at least 21 years of age and possess valid medical certificate
· Possession of a diploma and one year of driving experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred
· Have only one valid commercial motor vehicle operator’s license – Class B
· Ability to understand Company operations and procedures; includes Speak and read English well enough to converse with the general public, understand highway traffic signs and signals, respond to official questions, and be able to make legible entries on reports and records
· Working knowledge of the care and operation of automotive transportation vehicles
· Ability to drive vehicle safely, travel, including overnights
Physical/Environmental Requirements:
· Heavy work. Exerting up to 100 lbs. of force occasionally, and/or up to 75 lbs. of force frequently, and/or up to 50 lbs. of force constantly to move objects.
· Driving may occur in all kinds of weather and road conditions
· Exposed to primarily outdoor elements
