The Maintenance Technician is responsible for conducting general maintenance and repairs on facility equipment and property structures. They focus on equipment uptime, preventive and reactive maintenance, identifying abnormal conditions, and participating in continuous improvement activities. She / He is an integral team member in executing and improving MWTC’s TPM program, driving Overall Equipment Effectiveness, OEE. The Maintenance Technician is also responsible for maintaining workplace organization. As part of the overall Production Team, she/he is expected to work cross-functionally with his/her production peers to develop and drive lean operational initiatives that are designed to address strategic and tactical equipment objectives at Midwest Tool & Cutlery.
Responsibilities:
· Comply with safety regulations and procedures.
· Participate in lean/continuous improvement activities.
· Perform preventive maintenance on all machines.
· Troubleshoot and repair equipment breakdowns.
· Diagnose and repair electrical issues.
· Performs assigned work in compliance with the daily maintenance schedule.
· Participates in supervisor & maintenance standups.
· On-call for 2nd shift issues that may arise.
· Maintain appropriate inventory of repair parts and related tooling required to complete work in a timely manner.
Maintenance Technition Requirements:
· Minimum 3 years in machining &/or manufacturing maintenance environment.
· Proven experience with 3 Phase electrical, hydraulics, HVAC, metal fabrication, welding, and industrial equipment required – PLCs, robotics, and automation is a strong plus.
· Exceptional troubleshooting and corrective maintenance experience.
· Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement experience preferred.
· Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and maintenance applications.
· Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
· Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
· Must be able to lift up to 70 lbs occasionally.
· Documented equivalent work experience, High School diploma required. CMRP/T certification is a plus.
