Job Description
Midwestern Career College has immediate opening for a Human Resources Director.
Location and Schedule: Downtown Chicago. This is an on-site position, with a minimum of 4 days in the office with 8:30am to 6pm schedule, and Friday's remote an 8:30 am to4:00pm schedule.
Essential Functions:
The Human Resources Generalist will be knowledgeable all Midwestern Career College human resources initiatives. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Administers various human resources plans and procedures for all organization personnel.
- Leads the update of personnel policies and procedures, as needed.
- Maintaining human resource information system records and compiling reports from the database.
- Administers health and welfare plans, including enrollments and terminations.
- Ensurs employee understanding of benefits programs through regular communication and counseling.
- Monitors employee eligibility for benefits plans and processing enrollment, cancellation, or changes. And serving as a resource for payroll/HR contacts to ensure compliance with benefits and HR policies.
- Oversees payroll compliance and processing.
- Prepares government reports related to EEOC compliance or other HR functions, as needed.
- Conducts new-employee orientations and assisting with employee relations counseling and exit interviewing.
- Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment and benefits laws and regulations, in collaboration with third party advisor(s).
- Assists with FMLA/Leave administration reporting and processing.
- Oversees company-wide events.
- Reviews and processing all unemployment claims.
- Occasional travel across organizational offices in Chicago may be required.
- Oversee a number of administrative employees and outsourced provider(s).
- Other projects as needed.

Education and experience required:
· Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required.
· 3 to 5 years of human resource / Generalist experience required.
Required Education and Experience*
- A bachelor's degree in human resources management or related field, and 3 to 5 years of experience in a human resource generalist role.
- Must have intermediate computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, HRIS experience preferably with Paycor.
Work Authorization
Must have legal authorization to work in the United States.
