We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Construction Estimator to join our dynamic team in Virginia Beach, VA. The ideal candidate will have over 5 years of experience in estimating for commercial and federal construction projects. As a Construction Estimator, you will play a crucial role in our project planning process, ensuring accurate and competitive pricing for a variety of construction projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Analysis: Review project plans, specifications, and other documents to understand the scope of work and project requirements.
  • Cost Estimation: Prepare detailed cost estimates, including materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractor costs for commercial and federal construction projects.
  • Bid Preparation: Develop and submit comprehensive bids and proposals for potential projects, ensuring all client and regulatory requirements are met.
  • Vendor Coordination: Obtain and evaluate quotes from suppliers and subcontractors, ensuring competitive pricing and quality standards.
  • Budget Management: Assist in the preparation and monitoring of project budgets, providing accurate cost data for project tracking and reporting.
  • Risk Assessment: Identify potential risks and provide cost-effective solutions to mitigate them during the estimation process.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with project managers, engineers, architects, and other stakeholders to ensure accurate and timely project estimates.
  • Documentation: Maintain organized records of estimates, bids, and related documents for future reference and auditing purposes.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in construction estimating, with a strong focus on commercial and federal projects.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in construction estimating software (e.g., ProEst, Bluebeam, PlanSwift) and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Project).
  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and mathematical skills, with the ability to interpret complex project plans and specifications.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present information clearly and concisely.
  • Detail-Oriented: High attention to detail and accuracy in cost estimation and documentation.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to think critically and make informed decisions.
  • Team Player: Ability to work effectively in a team environment and collaborate with various stakeholders.
