Mike's Camera is Hiring an Accounts Payable Clerk Near Boulder, CO

Education:

High School Diploma (or GED or High School Equivalence Certificate)
Associate's degree in Accounting (or similar field)

Equivalent Work Experience in lieu of degree

Experience:

1-2 years in general accounting experience

1-2 years in general office experience, filing, answering phones, document retention, office equipment

1-2 year in Microsoft Office Suite experience (Excel, Word, Outlook)

Knowledge:

  • Clerical - Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems such as word processing, managing paper files and records, designing forms, and other office procedures and terminology.
  • Accounting - Knowledge of general accounting principles and practices, with a working understanding of accrual-based accounting, with specialization in posting periods and general ledger accounts.
  • Customer Service - Knowledge of principles and processes for providing great customer services. This includes customers to the store and vendors.

  • Attention to Detail - Ability to achieve thoroughness and accuracy when accomplishing a task and catching mistakes quickly to correct them.
  • Active Learning - Understanding the implications of new information for both current and future problem-solving and decision-making.
  • Active Listening - Giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times.
  • Critical Thinking - Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems.
  • Learning Strategies - Selecting and using training/instructional methods and procedures appropriate for the situation when learning or teaching new things.
  • Reading Comprehension - Understanding written sentences and paragraphs in work related documents.
  • Communication - Talking to customers, vendors, and co-workers to convey information effectively. Communicating effectively in writing as appropriate for the needs of the audience. Using appropriate communication channels (email, telephone, face-to-face, or letters).

Tasks:

  • Use accounting or bookkeeping software, including Excel.
  • Using computers to enter, access, or retrieve data.
  • Utilizing exceptional communication skills to successfully resolve issues and follow up with vendors, customers, and co-workers.
  • Independently create, manage, and audit Excel workbooks for data accuracy.
  • Utilize time management and organization skills to meet deadlines and prioritize tasks.
  • Adapt to new process and procedures with the ability to analyze the results and suggest improvements to gain better accuracy and efficiency.
  • Operate computers programmed with specialized accounting software to record, store, and analyze information.
  • Comply with federal, state, and company policies, procedures, and regulations.
  • Classify, record, and summarize numerical and financial data to compile and keep financial records, using ledgers or computers.
  • Code documents according to company procedures.
  • Reconcile or note and report discrepancies found in records.
  • Perform general office duties such as filing, answering telephones, and handling routine correspondence.
  • Receive, record, and deposit cash, checks, and vouchers.
  • Match receiving logs with invoices and record the necessary information.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced, professional office environment.
  • Must be physically capable of moving, lifting, pulling, or pushing 25 lbs. several times a day.
