SUMMARY
A Dispatcher is responsible for the coordination of the utilization of drivers, third party trucks and containers to create capacity, maximize productivity and ensure prompt, courteous and efficient service to all customers.

Duties involve the use of several procedures or processes that generally have predetermined standards. Judgment will be required to arrange job details in order to achieve pre-determined objectives. Requires ability to analyze and resolve problems. May suggest process improvements.
INITIATIVE
Uses initiative in carrying out recurring assignments. Asks for direction whenever events do not unfold as previously discussed or planned. Keeps supervisor/manager informed of problem matters. Ensures that proper notes are being taken with every call to avoid problems in the future.
INTERPERSONAL / COMMUNICATIONS
Communicates with immediate associates and immediate supervisor/manager for instructions, training and guidance. Some contact with equipment suppliers will be required to obtain operations and basic maintenance instructions. Significant contact with trucking companies and drivers as well as some contact with customer community.
WORK ENVIRONMENT AND DEMANDS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is frequently exposed to outside weather conditions and vibration. The noise level in work environment is usually moderate.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, stoop, climb and kneel; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Employee will meet with supervisor and manager sporadically to do routine physical inventory of assets and minor service in containers. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and peripheral vision.
