Ability to identify each students strengths, weaknesses and interests, to engage and motivate the studentKnowledge of various assessment toolsAdminister and analyze diagnostic tests and use data to inform daily instructionKnowledge of the latest literacy intervention programsInstruct small group intervention classesWork collaboratively with school personnel to assist with the implementation of Individual Student Success Plans and consistent progress monitoring to foster students academic growthKnowledgeable about Special Education (SpEd) and English Learners (EL) to work with teachers to design appropriate reading programsModel reading strategies in the content areaCommunicate with content area teachers to support students with their curriculum in a small group settingBe a resource to content area teachers in selecting reading materials for studentsAbility to work with a multi-disciplinary team of educatorsTeam oriented individual willing to collaborate with the school community in the best interest of student growthAlign lesson objectives to CCSS and WIDA standardsCommunicate with families regarding student progress and supportA positive person, willing to become consistently involved in all academic and social aspects of school life to support student success, school spirit, and school climate and cultureRespect for diversityPerform standard duties as required by Administration
