Milk Specialties Company is Hiring a Corporate Quality Assurance Manager Near Norfolk, NE

The human nutrition division focuses on industry leading whey and milk protein isolates, concentrates, and hydrolysates. The animal nutrition division is a leading supplier of functional fats, proteins, and carbohydrates.

The Corporate Quality Assurance Manager has the responsibility for implementing and maintaining the Quality Assurance and Regulatory Programs at Milk Specialties Global facilities. Establishing Quality Assurance specifications for raw materials and finished products and ensuring that these specifications are met; coordinating analytical testing of ingredients and finished products for toll manufacturing.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Implement and monitor the company’s Quality Assurance and Regulatory Program at Milk Specialties Global facilities and toll manufacturers according to established policies and procedures.
  • Establish quality assurance specifications and documentation for finished products and ingredients and ensure that these specifications are met and adhered to.
  • Review quality and production capabilities against customer specifications and requirements.
  • Assist in managing regulatory compliance as it pertains to government licenses and registrations.
  • With the Purchasing Department, establish quality specifications for incoming raw materials, monitoring these raw materials to ensure that specifications are met.
  • Responsible for assistance with management and certification of IP programs. This includes USDA Organic, EU Dairy, Non-GMO Project, Kosher and Halal.
  • Collaborate with procurement, R&D and engineering with new product formulations, certifications and approvals.
  • Complete requests for documentation and information about MSG facilities and products from R&D, Sales and customers.

  • Remain current on matters relating to production methods, formulations, analytical techniques and federal regulations as they relate to the Company’s products. Make recommendations for improvement as necessary.

  • Develop and assist in training quality assurance and production personnel or other MSG employees.

  • Travel as needed to on-site MSG-owned, co-manufacturing and supplier facilities to conduct audits, assist in quality program development and troubleshoot persistent issues.

  • Specific plant oversight toward compliance to quality and regulatory programs for MSG and applicable outside authorities.

  • Complete special projects as needed in a timely manner, reporting all data and observations.

Position Requirements:

  • 5 years previous Quality Assurance experience, preferably in manufacturing quality at a plant and corporate level.
  • Bachelor's degree in food science, dairy science, biology, chemistry or related field required. Master's degree preferred.
  • Will accept 10 years of progressive quality experience in lieu of Bachelor’s degree
  • Strong knowledge of laboratory testing procedures and computer software applications.
  • Excellent analytical and organizational skills.
  • Previous supervisory and auditing experience.
  • Certification(s) in HACCP, GFSI, ASQ and/or PCQI is highly desirable.
  • Strong computer skills; including MS Office Suite.
  • Highly organized and detailed oriented with the ability to track short- and long-term projects, work independently and balance multiple priorities.
  • Effective written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills are essential position attributes.
