Millennium Physicians Association is Hiring an A/R Collections Specialist (On-site) Near Kingwood, TX

General Summary of Duties: This position is responsible for notifying current and former patient of their delinquent account and attempt to obtain a payment.

Essential Functions:

  • Records any and all collection efforts taken on individual accounts
  • Communicate with other staff, primarily front office and financial counselor, payment posters, patients and physicians as needed
  • Research unpaid and denied claims to facilitate the processing and receipt of payment.
  • Ability to work with high volume of accounts while maintaining attention to detail and accuracy
  • Review correspondence from incoming faxes, mail and email

Experience:

  • Minimum of 1 year experience as patient collector in a hospital or multi-specialty practice setting-preferred

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent-required
  • Minimum of 1 year experience as patient collector-preferred

Knowledge/Skills:

  • Working knowledge of billing practices, CPT codes, and ICD10s
  • Proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR) and practice management software
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills
  • Knowledge of medical terminology
  • Ability to organize, multi-task, and meet deadlines
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
