Millennium Physicians Association is Hiring a Medical Assistant Near Tomball, TX

General Summary of Duties: This position is responsible for back office clinic duties in a busy Medical Urology Practice. The Medical Assistant is the patient’s first point of contact, therefore requires a positive attitude and polished, professional appearance. This position will multi task a variety of medical office duties including check out, scheduling, rooming, preparing patient charts, and obtaining patient vitals.

Essential Functions:

  • Job Description/Expectations:
  • 1. Room Pts. (take vitals, review allergies, ask if pt would like allergy testing, medications, past medical history, surgical history, Family medical history, pain scale, tobacco use, reason for appointment, etc) .2. Ekg, spirometry, give injections/vaccines, tests (UA, FBS, Strep, Flu, UPT, Mono, RSV) performed & entered into billing area if performed.* **All shots given/procedures must be entered fully into the chart before you move on to the next patient.Stock rooms3. Check messages several times a day & return call every patient acknowledging you received their call (even if you don' t have an answer) before leaving .4. Put up supplies - all boxes must be opened every day before leaving5. Check refill bin periodically throughout day.6. Fax and e-scribe prescription refills7. Collect and send specimens8. Write orders for diagnostic testing (mammo, DEXA, US, xrays, CT's, MRl's, etc.), blood work orders9. Clean rooms, clean nurse's area, clean vitals machine every day before leaving10. Keep track of supplies we're running low on & write it on supply list.11. Fill out paper work for patient medication assistance programs (go to triage?)12. Set up rooms for exams and procedures13. Calibrate the spirometer as needed.14. Prior-Auth on medications when needed15. Cash Pay Tickets - make sure the orders that they performed are entered16. Autoclave17. In office Blood draw's18. Teach pts to give injections19. Teach and give diabetic supplies20. Verify pts with controlled substance with Texas DPS web site21. Quest bills - call & add diagnosis, change insurances, etc.22. Change bio-hazard bins and sharps containersQualifications:
  • Minimum 1 year experience in a physician practice or outpatient clinic setting
  • High School Diploma or GED preferred
  • Ability to build rapport with patients
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
