Millennium Physicians is Hiring a Medical Billing Specialist Near Houston, TX
Essential Functions:
- Capture, post, and bill all charges within 48 hours from the date of service.
- Confirm dosages are converted to accurately to the billable units.
- Ensure coding including diagnosis and CPT codes are accurate at the time of billing.
- Verify and reconcile all charges daily against schedules.
- Research and resolve any missing charges or data with physicians and Business Office Manager.
- Submit claims electronically to insurance payers.
- Communicate any charge lags with Business Office Manager.
- Perform periodic chart and charge audits to ensure the physician’s documentation is complete.
- Perform other duties assigned by management.
- Minimum of 1-3 years experience as medical biller in a medical or infusion practice.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of 1 year experience as medical biller.
- CPC Coder Certification preferred.
- E Clinical Works experience a plus.
- Working knowledge of billing practice, cpt codes, and ICD10s.
- Proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR) and practice management software.
- Strong knowledge or payer guidelines and reimbursement policies.
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
- Ability to organize, multi-task, and meet deadlines.
- Excellent problem-solving skills.
