Millennium Physicians is Hiring a Medical Collections Specialist Near Houston, TX
Essential Functions:
Claim follow-up
Ability to prioritize collection activity on a daily routine
Reviews and process Insurance EOBs, denial and rejected claims
Ability to respond to denials and file appeals in a timely manner
Phone calls to third-party payers to obtain current account status information
Determines action necessary to obtain prompt third party payments
Make appropriate and necessary corrections to patient account information as needed to ensure timely payment
Accurately records and communicates patient information
Perform other duties assigned by management
Experience:
Minimum of 1 years experience as medical collection specialist in a hospital or multi-specialty practice setting-required
Requirements:
High School Diploma or equivalent-required
Minimum of 1 years experience as medical collection specialist- required
Knowledge/Skills:
Working knowledge of billing practice, CPT codes, and ICD10s
Proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR) and practice management software
Strong knowledge or payer guidelines and reimbursement policies
Effective interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment
Ability to organize, multi-task, and meet deadlines
Excellent problem-solving skills
