Position: Portfolio AnalystLocation: Franklin Lakes, NJDuration: 12 Months ContractTotal Hours/week: 40.001st ShiftClient: Medical Device CompanyEmployment Type: Contract on W2 (Need US Citizens Or GC Holders Only)No H1B’sThe role of Portfolio Analyst will be responsible for the will be responsible for the governance, tracking, analysis, reporting and maturation of the Technology & Global Services (TGS) operating model, project portfolio and related processes to achieve its key performance objectives and collaborate across the functional excellence teams to align to our strategic priorities and deliver key projects.
The role requires someone with strong communication and organizational skills, knowledge and exposure to a broad range of enterprise program management and portfolio principles as well as the ability to support the full TGS organization in areas such as preparation for review boards, resource allocation and processes/procedures. This individual must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and be detail oriented. Experience in creating and maintaining online metrics and dashboards is necessary. Must have a solid analytical mindset and be comfortable presenting to company leadership at all levels. You should enjoy a team setting where your success depends heavily on building relationships across the organization.
This position reports directly to the Associate Director, Operating Model & Portfolio Integration and will work directly with the Functional Excellence Leadership Team, Key Business Partners (Segments, Regions & Central Teams) and Enterprise Project & Portfolio Management.
Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure TGS governance model and mechanisms continue to support our strategic vision and improve the way we do business.
  • Support Portfolio Managers and Business Partners by working across the Business Partner (BP) organizations on reporting requirements, analysis, and the use of our Portfolio Management Tool
  • Assist and guide BPs through portfolio governance model to ensure alignment with strategic initiatives and prioritization within the FY budget.
  • Highlight and identify risks/impediments in the portfolio and lead the development of subsequent actions to minimize/mitigate project failure (delayed/over budget)
  • Create & manage portfolio metrics and dashboards that support Business Partners, Stakeholders and TGS Leadership
  • Support and facilitate governance mechanisms
  • Ensure resources are effectively deployed and tracked for optimizing investments
  • Embrace continuous improvement mindset and model or coach the use of Agile/lean best practices and innovation
  • Identify/Consolidate/Develop Portfolio insights and present analysis and recommendations (e.g., Portfolio Strategic backlog, Resource Mgmt., Risks)
  • Participate in the development and management of annual planning processes including template preparation, training, data collection and related reporting on planning progress
  • Maintain and mature portfolio management processes within the department
  • Apply portfolio management best practices to our internal processes
  • Maintain data quality and completeness across the portfolio
  • Manage portfolio update processes and regular reporting to management
  • Prepare regular and ad-hoc reporting on portfolio health
Qualifications & ExperienceThe ideal candidate will bring a combination of organizational transformation, change management, process improvements, communications and influencing skills together.
In Addition, This Person Should Also Possess
  • Bachelor's degree (BA or BS) and/or equivalent work experience required
  • 5 years of Project Portfolio analyst experience in a cross functional technology organization
  • Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail; strong teamwork, collaborative support and organizational skills
  • Experience creating and managing online dashboards and metrics
  • PMP and/or Agile certification a plus
  • Willingness to travel, if required (10%)
  • Strategic thinker—aligns to top business priorities, and has a strong passion and knowledge of our business and business partners
  • Courageous and focused—Influencing, driver, listener who is not afraid to ask for help, escalate or say No
  • Strong Communication: written and verbal with executive presence; focus on consistent communication of intent and help people understand the why
  • Has a passion for ensuring good business planning and investments demonstrating, business acumen, financial and resource savviness and has appropriate certifications, if required.
  • Prepared to lead change in our organization, supporting senior leaders to partner with our business stakeholders in managing our TGS portfolio
  • An Agile mindset with ability to pivot between roles and approaches based on team needs
  • Strong soft skills typically required in stakeholder engagement (empowering people, influencing, negotiation, conflict management)
