SUMMARY – The Service Technician utilizes boiler service experience and mechanical capabilities to perform maintenance on Commercial & Industrial boilers in the Westchester/NYC/Long Island areas for primarily Cleaver-Brooks boilers. This role will work alongside experienced / factory trained service technicians who will instruct on all areas of repair and maintenance until the individual is capable of working alone. Extensive training and coaching is involved in the first 3-6 months.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Perform routine maintenance on boiler equipment and systems
• Maintain low pressure boilers, high boilers, power boilers, steam boilers, or hot water heating systems.
• Replace defective valves, filters, or steam gauges.
• Monitor boiler systems to ensure it is operating safely and properly; facilitates periodic cleaning.
• Address any problems with boiler systems and notifies maintenance when needed.
• Maintain neat and professional demeanor to guarantee an excellent customer service experience
• Contact supervisor concerning potentially dangerous equipment or safety violations.
• OSHA 30, F-60 & G-60 is required
• Identify opportunities to sell additional equipment as needed
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• 5 years’ experience in Boiler Maintenance, Combustion, basic boiler circuits, PLC, instrumentation calibration, ability to read wiring schematic,
• Stand-by “on-call” service capability required once every 3 weeks
• Technical/vocational school training and experience working with HVAC or industrial boilers.
• Extensive knowledge of industrial boiler operations and maintenance.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent mechanical skills
• Ability to follow OSHA rules as to safety procedures and processes.
• Must have own hand tools
• Company will provide “specialty tools” as needed and a service vehicle.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Physically able to inspect and repair boilers
• Able to work in confined spaces
• Must be able to lift 75 pounds at a time
• Ability to perform some welding is a plus
• Must pass a drug screening and background check prior to employment (at the company’s expense)
