Millhouse Howell Landscape Company is seeking a highly motivated, detail oriented, and organized Controller to join our growing Company's financial team.

Qualifications

• 5 years of relevant experience
• bachelor's degree preferred
• experience in small business accounting
• payroll tax and compliance experience required
• proficient in Quickbooks with ability to run payroll
• willingness to learn industry-specific software as required
• high-level written and verbal communication skills
• keen attention to detail and accuracy in financial record keeping
• strong organizational skills with ability to prioritize workload and meet deadlines
• ability to work independently and as a problem-solver
• positive interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate in a team environment
• desire to create value for the company during downtime
• ability to handle confidential information with discretion

Responsibilities

• timely and accurately record financial transactions in accounting software for multiple entities
• maintain chart of accounts and keep books up to date
• run payroll on a weekly basis
• provide support for formal month-end and year-end close processes
• prepare budgets and forecasts
• manage accounting functions, reconciliations, and resolutions for GL accounts such as
• accounts receivable
• accounts payable
• fixed assets and depreciation
• other liabilities (credit cards, loans) and related expenses
• inter-company transactions
• perform administration tasks such as
• manage vendor relationships and reconciliations
• collaborate with external CPA firm to maintain accurate financial records
• assist with general business management and office projects as needed
• assist external CPA firm with standard and as needed reporting requirements (financial, division, and project based)
• maintain general knowledge of accounting regulation and standards to ensure compliance and best practices

Compensation

• This is a full-time position; salary will be commensurate with experience and skill level.
