About the role :

As a Teacher at Millington Municipal Schools, you will plan and instruct lessons on subject topics, and be responsible for providing professional instructions designed to provide academic, social, physical, and skills development for students in specific grades / subject areas to prepare them to be successful citizens and workers in the 21st century.

You will create an educational environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and needs of the students.

Responsibilities :

  • Prepare instructional materials for classes assigned and provide written evidence of preparation to supervisor / administrator upon request.
  • Establish a standard of classroom behavior and maintain classroom management in and outside of the school.
  • Plan curriculum and prepare lessons and other instructional materials to meet individual needs of students within state and school requirements based on the educational, physical, and emotional levels of student development.
  • Confer with parents, administrators, specialists, mental health staff, and appropriate resource staff to develop educational programs for students.
  • Instruct students by using educational strategies and techniques to improve sensory motor and perceptual-motor development, perception, memory language, communication skills, cognition, social, and emotional development.
  • Motivate students and provide consistent reinforcement of learning skills and provide continuous assessment and feedback to students for all learning activities.
  • Maintain accurate, complete, and correct records as required by law, and district and administrative regulations.
  • Assist administration in implementing all policies and rules governing student activities and conduct.
  • Sponsor student activities / clubs / teams / organizations and tutor students as requested.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned or directed.

Minimum Qualifications :

  • Bachelor's degree and endorsement in the grade / subject taught with a valid Tennessee certificate.
  • Governed by the Rules and Regulations of the Tennessee Code Annotated and the collective bargaining agreement.
  • Must be physically and mentally able to perform the responsibilities and duties of the position.

  • Ability to create an educational environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and needs of the students.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with diverse groups of students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Ability to plan curriculum and prepare lessons and other instructional materials to meet individual needs of students.
  • Strong classroom management skills and ability to establish a standard of classroom behaviors.
  • Commitment to continuous improvement and ongoing professional development.

FLSA Status : Exempt.

13 and $69,716.77. We consider a candidate's level of experience, subject matter expertise, and potential for high-need placements when determining their pay .

If a candidate holds permits while pursuing licensure, we will adjust their pay accordingly . We understand that compensation is an important consideration for candidates, and we will openly and honestly discuss salary expectations throughout the interview process.
