Milwaukee School of Engineering is Hiring a Student Services Coordinator Near Milwaukee, WI

Milwaukee School of Engineering (MSOE) invites applications for a full-time Student Services Coordinator to join our Registrar’s Office team. The Student Services Coordinator is a key member of the Registrar’s Office team who provides consistent, timely and high-level customer service to the students, faculty, and staff who contact our office. This person assists with general office tasks related to student enrollment, course registration and grading.Essential Job Functions
  • Front line customer service on the main phone line and at the front counter
  • Manage the office’s general email accounts by responding and/or directing to appropriate team member
  • Process official transcript requests via Parchment
  • Assist students with course registration—dropping and adding courses, registering new students, etc.
  • Process degree verifications via the National Student Clearinghouse
  • Prepare and process various forms for students including enrollment verifications
  • Assist other team members with various processes including grading and creation of the schedule of classes
  • Communicate policy and procedure information via a series of campus-wide emails
  • Create and maintain complete and accurate student files and student electronic records
Other Duties and Responsibilities
  • Assist with supervision of the student workers
  • Other duties as assigned by the Registrar or as needed for the smooth day-to-day operation of the office.
This list of duties and responsibilities is not all-inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities as management may deem necessary from time to time.Qualifications
  • Minimum 2 years of relevant administrative experience required
  • High School Diploma required; minimum 2 years of college coursework preferred
  • Experience working in a college setting and/or with student academic records preferred
  • Experience working with Jenzabar or other student information system preferred
Skills and Abilities
  • Outstanding written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills; ability to read and interpret documents such as policy documents and procedure manuals.
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Ability to think critically when presented with tasks, situations and questions that are outside of the norm
  • Ability to organize and problem-solve tasks effectively
  • Ability to multi-task and not be hindered by frequent interruptions
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
  • Proven office technology proficiency. Comfortable learning new software.
  • Ability to work with confidential information in a professional manner
  • Ability to apply FERPA criteria to various requests for information
  • Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out written or oral instructions.
Physical DemandsWhile performing the duties of this job the employee is largely sedentary, the ability to move is required. The employee is occasionally required to traverse within their work area as well as other areas on campus. Work EnvironmentThis job operates in a professional office environment.
