We are excited to add a Medical Writing Specialistto our Medical Education team! The position will pay between$108,000 - $132,000plus bonus based on previous relevant experience, educational credentials, and location. This is a fully remote role.

POSITION SUMMARY:

Position responsibilities includes the editing material for internal and external audiences that support the established overarching strategic goals established by the MIMEDX leadership. You will assist in medical writing projects, working with other cross-functional departments to set and meet deliverable timelines. Documents could include, but not restricted to, medical and scientific journal articles, guidance documents, and other documents where thoughtful structure and accurate terminology are required.

Position scope ranges from the creation of original work from samples of information to "clean up" of documents written by others. Target audiences of the documents include medical and scientific journals, marketing department pieces, technical papers, government entities, scientific congress attendees, etc.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop appropriate formatting for journal submission.
  • Submits formal documentation with appropriate formatting and construction for on line submissions for journal articles, government filings, poster presentations, etc.
  • Assists in the development of formats and guidelines for clinical documentation.
  • May prepare scientific manuscripts, abstracts, slide presentations and posters.
  • May also support clinical research associates and medical doctors in clinical protocol development. Keeps abreast of professional information and technology through conferences.
  • Develop medical documentation for instructional, informational, marketing, or product development purposes.
  • Develop and edit moderately complex medical writing documents, reports, manuals, articles, brochures, data templates, case report forms (CRFs), conference posters, and/or study protocols.
  • Serve as a primary contact, negotiating deliverables, timelines, and resolving project related issues in collaboration with cross-functional stakeholders and authors.
  • Work closely with Legal, Compliance and Regulatory to ensure documents are in agreement with set corporate and government policies.
  • Researches, writes and edits pre-clinical and/or clinical resources, summarizing data from pre-clinical and/or clinical studies.
  • Assists with preparation of clinical reports, summary documents
  • Identify, recommend, and assist in the implementation of continuous process improvements as it relates to medical writing.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor's Degree in related field
  • 2 years of related experience in medical writing

SKILLS/COMPETENCIES:

  • Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to interact with physicians, medical journals and with both internal and external customers
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word and Access).
  • Familiarity and/or experience with literature searches and reviews.
  • Organized, flexible, and able to multi-task while maintaining a high level of efficiency and attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical skills, problem solving, strategic and technical analysis skills
