Job Summary:
We seek a skilled and compassionate Specialty Services Technician to join our team. This Technician will operate and maintain TMS equipment for treating various depressive disorders, assist in monitoring of Spravato treatments, and coordinate and deliver QB testing. The successful candidate will work closely with patients, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to ensure the safe and effective delivery of these treatments.
Responsibilities
- Administers TMS treatments and supports patients during treatments using positive communication and reinforcement to ensure their comfort, safety, and optimal results are achieved. 
- Operate and maintain TMS equipment according to established protocols and guidelines. 
- Provide psychoeducation curriculum to patients, communicate, and educate patients on the importance of maintaining a healthy lifestyle. 
- Administer TMS therapy sessions, monitoring patients for adverse reactions or side effects. 
- Document and maintain detailed records of patient treatments, progress, and observed symptom changes. 
- Assist psychiatrist by gathering and reviewing medical records to aid in appropriate patient selection. 
- Educate patients and their families about the TMS procedure, addressing any questions or concerns they may have. 
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues with the TMS equipment, ensuring proper functioning. 
- Adhere to safety protocols and infection control procedures to maintain a clean and safe treatment environment. 
- Stay informed about the latest developments and research in TMS therapy and related technologies.
- Monitor for adverse effects and notify the doctor or provider. Assist in the management of adverse effects, including seizures. 
- Complete all required clinical and administrative documentation to accepted standards of practice accurately, legibly, and by established timelines on electronic health record (EHR) system and paper as needed. 
- Collaborate with Providers to determine the treatment protocols. 
- Assist in monitoring clients receiving Spravato treatments and reporting any adverse side effects.
- Assist in administering QB (Quantitative Behavioral) tests to clients seeking treatment for ADHD.
Qualifications
- Previous experience as a TMS Technician or similar role is highly desirable. 
- At least one year of one-on-one direct patient care and/or experience working with patients suffering from anxiety and depression is preferred. 
- Strong knowledge of TMS principles, procedures, and equipment operation. 
- Familiarity with various neurological and psychiatric disorders commonly treated with TMS therapy. 
- Experience communicating with insurance companies regarding client benefits is preferred. 
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with patients and healthcare professionals. 
- Ability to maintain professional appearance and demeanor and interface well with patients in a mental health setting required. 
- Attention to detail and the ability to follow protocols and guidelines accurately. 
- Friendly demeanor, excellent communication skills, and ability to work well with a team. 
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills. 
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards in patient care. 
- Basic computer skills for documentation and record-keeping purposes. 
- Must be flexible and willing to travel to different offices if needed. 
Education
- An associate or bachelor’s degree is strongly preferred, but candidates with patient care experience will be strongly considered. 
- Pre-Med, Nursing students and/or recent LVN graduates are ideal for this position. 
- Successful completion of TMS Certification (training and certification provided during the initial period of employment.) 
- Successful completion of QB test administration training. (training to be provided during the initial period of employment.) 
- Active CPR certification

- Flexibility in schedule & work hours (Monday through Friday, 8 am – 5 pm). As the clinic grows, evening availability may be necessary.
