Sr. Financial Analyst - Sales Financial Operations - Mahwah NJ

Job Summary:

Key finance professional responsible for developing critical business intelligence reports relied upon by executive management in making timely business decisions, including daily/weekly sales and order reports. Responsibilities of the sales finance operations team also include sales performance reporting and administration of sales compensation plans for 250 field sales and clinical personnel, and management/administration of the Company’s vehicle fleet and commercial insurance programs.

Position Specifications:

Essential Functions

  1. Issuance of daily order and revenue reports used by management to judge status of the business compared to forecast, budget, and prior year as well as tracking of deferred revenue and backlog
  2. Develop and publish sales ‘standings’ for all sales reps/managers by region/division
  3. Administers all approved sales/clinical compensation plans and perform commissions and bonus calculations to ensure proper and timely payment through payroll processing
  4. Develop and prepare ad hoc reports for business needs
  5. Administer the corporate vehicle fleet program, which includes ordering, maintaining, driver requests/issues, and maintenance of detailed lease accounting for fleet vehicle additions and dispositions
  6. Coordinate the annual review of commercial insurance policies and maintain the insurance programs including monitoring of claims processing by third-party service providers, issuance of customer certificate requests, and review of customer contracts for insurance matters
  7. Perform month-end close duties including preparation of commission accruals, revenue reports and reconciliations, and journal entries related to deferred revenue, return authorizations (RMAs), and sales rebates/credits, etc.
  8. Communicate with senior management and global finance HQ regarding issues related to sales, commissions expense, vehicle fleet, and insurance matters
  9. Effectively delegate tasks, supervise and train staff (currently one staff subject to growth), and report to the Director of Sales Finance Operations.

Knowledge/Educational Requirement

  • Relevant college degree (Accounting/Finance/Business Administration or Economics) and 5 years equivalent experience in sales reporting/commissions calculation, analysis and management
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint applications
  • Knowledge of ERP/CRM Systems, SAP strongly preferred; Salesforce and Business Intelligence knowledge a plus
  • Experience with fleet management and corporate insurance administration a plus

Skills and Abilities

  • Clear and concise verbal and written communication skills
  • A self-starter with high energy, enthusiasm, self-motivation, and positive attitude
  • Demonstrated ability to roll up sleeves and work with team members in a hands-on management capacity
  • Mature and confident, with the ability to work well across the organization with senior management, corporate headquarters, field sales and clinical reps, operations, and the finance staff
  • Extremely reliable, with proven ability to meet demanding deadlines amid multiple priorities; excellent multitasking and prioritization skills are a must
  • Highly accurate and detailed oriented, with a deep understanding of compensation plans and excel modeling for calculations of commissions
  • Strong understanding of creating and manipulating Excel spreadsheets (i.e. pivot tables, lookup commands, and advanced formulas)
  • Ability to solve problems independently and react to changing demands on a timely basis
