We are looking to add an Intermediate Electrical Controls Support Engineer to join our Field Support team. Reporting to the Manager, Field Support, the Intermediate Electrical Controls Support Engineer, is responsible for supporting the team in electrical troubleshooting.

Responsibilities:

  • Troubleshooting control system components and circuits on field systems, prioritizing product availability for customers.
  • Providing training and procedures to the broader Field Services team on electrical troubleshooting.
  • Analyzing sub-system wiring diagrams for power distribution, fuse load, grounding system layout and wire harness drawings.
  • Adapting product support strategies to rapidly changing hardware and software designs.
  • Supporting build quality, manufacturing and assembly issues during prototype and production stages.
  • Bench calibration and commissioning of sensors, control devices and system assemblies.
  • Recording and prioritizing product design feedback based on field data.
  • Contributing to documentation for the technical product knowledge base.
  • Additional duties as required by your Manager.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical, Electronic Controls, or Mechatronics engineering, registered P.Eng / EIT or eligible for registration with Engineers & Geoscientists BC.
  • Minimum 2-4 years experience as an electrical or electronics control engineer.
  • Experience troubleshooting control panels, mobile heavy equipment, and automotive systems.
  • Experience with PLC or embedded system programming.
  • Experience on Ethernet networking and industrial communication protocols (i.e. Modbus, OPC, Ethernet/IP).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Spanish language fluency is an asset.
  • IEC programming experience is an asset.
  • Experience in a customer support / service environment is an asset.
  • Ability to work flexible hours with on call availability to support our 24-hour service desk.
  • Legally able to work in Canada.

$83,000 - $100,000 a year

The salary offered to the successful candidate will be based on their experience, knowledge and skills they bring to MineSense, market data based on their location as well as internal equity. Keeping this mind, the salary offered can be outside of the range posted. We are in growth mode and are looking for talented folks at all levels, so please do not hesitate to apply.
