Avenue Living is recruiting for an experienced mid to senior level Transactional Real Estate Attorney for our in-house legal department. The Transactional Real Estate Attorney will have the opportunity to join a dynamic, fast-paced, in-house team providing legal service to a growing US self storage property business as well as a residential multi-family property owner.

WHAT WILL YOU DO?

  • Draft, review, and negotiate contracts for asset purchase agreements, loan documents as well as ancillary contracts as it relates to common asset purchase agreements
  • Manage the transaction from contract preparation to closing, including title and survey review or response to objections, preparation of closing documents, review of closing statements, and coordination of closings with the business team, accounting, and title companies.
  • Reviewing and monitoring contractual obligations to validate all terms and conditions are met
  • Assist in-house counsel with debt and equity financing, including reviewing/drafting loan documents and closing coordination with business teams and accounting.
  • Escalating critical contract issues to internal departments to ensure timely and appropriate resolution
  • Other duties as assigned

WHAT WILL YOU NEED?

  • 3-10 years of experience drafting, reviewing and negotiating asset purchase agreements, loan documents as well as ancillary contracts as it relates to common asset purchase agreements
  • Admission to the Texas State Bar is required
  • Strong interpersonal skills, experience practicing real estate transactions and top tier academic background.
  • Experience with title and survey review, leasing and development of real property is an asset.
  • Accuracy and attention to detail
  • Ability to work well under pressure and within tight deadlines
  • Strong organizational and detail-oriented work ethic
  • Ability to self-prioritize
