SPEECH & HEARING PATHOLOGIST OR AUDIOLOGIST OR COMMUNICATION DISORDERS SPECIALIST

POSITION TITLE: SPEECH & HEARING PATHOLOGIST OR AUDIOLOGIST OR COMMUNICATION DISORDERS SPECIALIST

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Master's degree in Speech Language Pathology from accredited university
  2. Appropriate Idaho Certificate as provided by the Idaho State of Education
  3. Alternatives to the above qualifications as may be recommended by the Superintendent and approved by the Board.
  4. Pupil Personnel Certificate endorsed as a Speech and Hearing Therapist (Clinician).

REPORTS TO: Director of Special Services

SUPERVISES:Speech/Language Certified Technician

JOB GOAL: To identify and provide therapy for students with communicative disorders.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Provide therapy for extended school year.
  2. Prepare building schedules based upon student caseloads.
  3. Complete student files.
  4. Administer audiometric screening programs and makes appropriate referrals.
  5. Administers speech and language screening programs.
  6. Evaluate referrals from the speech and language screening (conforming to Idaho State Guidelines for due process).
  7. Plan and implement individual speech/language programs.
  8. Conduct hearing conservation program.
  9. Maintain working relationships with all public school personnel.
  10. Provide own transportation for itinerant schedule.
  11. Know and follow school district policy and chain of command.
  12. Perform such other tasks as assigned by the Director of Special Services.

Other duties as assigned.
