The MinIO Labs team is looking for a Subject Matter Expert - Security and Log Analytics. This is a technical content role at MinIO. It is both the engine and the spokesperson for MinIO’s positioning to the threat hunting community where MinIO has proven success in serving as the data storage platform of choice to some of the biggest players in the industry. This means articulating how MinIO and various threat analytic technologies interact - both on a product specific level (experience with deploying and configuring SIEM solutions (e.g., Splunk, ELK Stack, IBM QRadar, ArcSight) but also generally (networking, attack vectors, data pipelines).

The primary channel is the blog/contributed articles but this also means speaking at conferences and webinars, recording screencasts and of course social promotion of that work.

This role works hand in hand with MinIO engineering, marketing and sales to tell the Kubernetes-native, multi-cloud story that is MinIO object storage as it relates to the AI/ML community and large scale data infrastructure. You will have the MinIO marketing team at your side for editorial support, design, promotion, campaigns and strategy - allowing you to focus on solving problems with code.

Success is measured through content creation, developer interaction with that content and engagement. The role will include travel when practical and can be based anywhere in the Americas or Europe.

The role is scoped at a Senior Manager or Director level depending on experience. It reports directly to the CMO. The role is an individual contributor role. Successful candidates will have the following:

• Portfolio of code-driven work across writing, video, screenshares and speaking. This is the most important evaluative criteria. If you have done it and done it well, it will shine through to us.
• At least 5 years hands-on experience in the security architecture space, ideally at an end customer. This is a critical requirement. If you have not done this professionally you will not be a candidate.
• Exposure to multiple security world’s tools, frameworks and technologies
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline (Master's degree preferred)
• Recognized thought leader in one or more developer and DevOps communities
• Excellent interpersonal skills. Must have the ability to engage with other teams, support joint initiatives, and help achieve collaborative success.
• Ability to set and execute against goals while always thinking about measurement - often without supervision
• Deep understanding of the cloud-native developer ecosystem, the DevOps mindset and modern application architecture
• Storytelling excellence. You tell good stories and know how to capture an audience's attention and keep it -- both when speaking, and when writing.
• Familiarity with the ability to integrate various data sources (e.g., logs, network traffic, endpoint data) into the SIEM platform
• Deep knowledge of the cybersecurity ecosystem from SIEM solutions, Endpoint Detection and Response, Network Security Tools, Threat Intelligence Platforms, Security Orchestration, Automation and Response
