Minnesota Sports and Entertainment is Hiring an Iowa Wild Merchandise Intern Near Des Moines, IA

The Iowa Wild Retail team thrives on the fast-paced energy of hockey and Iowa Wild fans. We are consistently bringing new merchandise of all varieties to our fan base with expert customer service. We strive to bring innovative ideas to the table while always keeping true to Wild hockey. You will have both hands in the process that brings these new styles and fun experiences to the surface!

Responsibilities/Essential Functions

  • Provide assistance in all tasks pertaining to the Merchandise Operations Department.
  • Provide a positive and fun environment for our Iowa Wild staff and fan base.
  • Innovative thinker in retail marketing and product merchandising.
  • Provide excellent customer service on game days and during online sales transactions.
  • Provide accuracy when completing transactions and using POS/register systems.
  • Keep up with current promotions and sales in-store and online.
  • Demonstrate ownership in helping organize and re-stock merchandise on game days.
  • Assist in inventory, tagging, and barcoding of new inventory.
  • Help to maintain stocked inventory, refresh merchandise placement, and accurate inventory counts.
  • Be able to take constructive feedback and handle multiple tasks at once.
  • Assist in store set-up and tear-down on game days.
  • Be willing to work some extended hours on game days.
  • Be committed to working all of the 2023-2024 Iowa Wild home games.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Position Requirements

Formal Education & Certification

  • Must be at least a first-year college or university student.

Knowledge & Experience

  • One year of retail experience is preferred but not required.
  • Proficient in product photography and photoshop skills.
  • Experience in customer service, retail merchandising, and the sports industry is a plus.
  • Innovative thinker in retail marketing and product merchandising.

Personal Attributes

  • Outgoing personality who is able to interact with fans in a positive and engaging manner.
  • Detail oriented in tasks associated with the overall merchandise operation to prepare for event days.
  • Customer service first attitude.
  • Proficient in product photography and photoshop skills.

Work Conditions

  • Must be able to work 98% of Iowa Wild home games.
  • Able to work a flexible schedule, including weekdays, weekends, early mornings, late evenings, and holidays.
  • Must be able to lift 50lbs and roll caster wheeled merchandise racks for setup and teardown initiatives.
  • May have extended periods of sitting or standing in office and on event days.
