What would you do?Summary/Objective: This position is responsible for maintaining broadcast technology systems and help with digital content at the Target Center and the Mayo Clinic Square offices for the MN Timberwolves and Lynx. As well as any outside events as needed. You will work with Daktronics, I.P. TV, tech operations planning, event support, equipment maintenance, documentation, for systems including Ross, Evetz, RTS, Grassvalley, Sony, and more. For this position we are seeking someone with strong detail orientation, excellent work ethic and strong knowledge and basic understanding of broadcasting. Ability to work with multiple systems, strong communication skills, ability to work under pressure, organization and documentation skills. Also, for an ability to work well with contractors, internal and external clients.

Work EnvironmentThis job operates in a professional office environment. Office hours are typically Monday-Friday from 8:30AM-5:30PM. In addition to working office hours staff may be required to work Timberwolves and Lynx home games, member events and meetings, and networking events. Work is generally sedentary in nature. The working environment is generally favorable. Work is generally performed within an office environment with standard office equipment available. This job also operates in a sports arena which includes bleachers/steps as well as moderate to high levels of noise.
Physical DemandsThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to communicate and exchange information with others both in person and over the telephone. The employee frequently is required to remain in a stationary position, as well as operate computers and other office equipment, such as a copy machine, printer and telephone. Staff will frequently ascend and descend bleachers/steps and traverse around the arena both on event days and non-event days. Staff may occasionally move objects weighing up to 15 pounds.
Travel Position may require travel to external events.

- Maintain and support all broadcast and network A/V equipment and systems at Target Center/Mayo from manufactures including Ross, Evertz, RTS, Grassvalley, Daktronics, Dashboard and more.
- Help with scheduling and loading content
- Help with game day and non game day duties
- Basic knowledge of Audio Mixers (digital and analog)
- Prefer Knowledge of I.P. Audio as well.
- Work with outside vendors in periodic repair, maintenance, and operation of broadcast and A/V equipment and systems.
- Help trouble shoot I.P. Workflows and systems
- Aid Chief Broadcast & A/V Engineer in supporting, installing and maintaining A/V and broadcast systems.
- Identify and resolve technical issues promptly to minimize interruption and downtime.
- Document and maintain inventory of broadcast and A/V equipment – log technical issues and resolutions.
- Knowledge of basic uses of Adobe programs such as After Effects, Photoshop, and Premiere
- Ability to read and understand system signal flow diagrams for television control room and studio facilities.
- Understanding of the urgent needs of on-air sports and the ability to stay focused and productive in a fast-paced environment with constantly changing assignments.
- Ability to support 24x7 production environment.
- 2 years of experience in sport/entertainment inhouse venue control rooms
- Proven experience as a Broadcast Engineer or similar role.
- In-depth knowledge of broadcast systems.
- Understanding of minor I.P. workflows
- Bachelor’s Degree, Technical School or related experience
- Basic knowledge of broadcast systems, equipment, cables, and signal flows.
- Customer service centric approach with a positive attitude
