Veterinary Technician/Assistant
Miramonte Veterinary Hospital is a AAHA accredited hospital providing the highest level of medical, surgical and dental care. We are also certified as a Fear Free Hospital and as a Gold level Cat Friendly Practice by the American Association of Feline Practitioners. Our patients are primarily cats and dogs with approximately 15% rabbits, birds, chickens, reptiles and rodents. Our practice provides a "family veterinarian, community-oriented" practice that focus on comprehensive examinations, rapid in-house diagnosis including ultrasound within 2-4 hours and provides timely and effective treatment.

We are seeking people with a strong work ethic, strong communication skills and positive attitude to join our veterinary team. Critical thinking skills, problem-solving abilities, the ability to work independently and troubleshoot novel situations are a must. Salary depends on experience - you do not need to be a certified RVT.

Great hours!! Monday - Friday 8 am - 5 pm, Alternating Saturdays 8 am - noon

Part time - minimum 20 hours per week

RVTs/technicians should be competent in the following:

Restraint

Blood draws

IV catheter placement

Taking diagnostic radiographs

Administering medications via all routes

Anesthetic induction (RVT only) and monitoring

Laboratory - running in house blood work: PCV/TP, chemistries, CBC, UA etc.

Client education -- vaccinations, flea control, heartworm prevention, discharge instructions, administer medications.

Assistants need not have all of the above experience but desired. Entry level considered. We are hiring for aptitude and attitude!
