How You Care for Our Patients

The Intake Mental Health Counselor, under the supervision of the Charge Nurse and Director of Intake, is responsible for maintaining a safe therapeutic milieu on intake waiting room and inpatient psychiatric units. The role involves conducting safety checks, patient monitoring, assisting with ADLs, de-escalating acute situations, and providing supportive interactions with patients.

You Bring Meaningful Experience

Successful candidates will have:

• High school diploma; bachelor's degree in Mental Health, Human Services or related field preferred. Previous PCT/PCA experience applicable.

• Sufficient typing and computer skills to facilitate use of Electronic Health Record required; experience with Electronic Health Record, including Medsphere/Vista preferred.

• Effective oral and written communication skills; ability to develop a therapeutic relationship while maintaining professional boundaries.

• Previous experience in psychiatric or substance inpatient, restraint reduction de-escalation, and crisis intervention is preferred.
