If you’ve ever been to Mission, you know we’re a lively cantina in Center City, with high energy, and some of the best tacos and margies in Philly. (If you haven’t been: 1, Welcome to Earth. 2. Stop reading this immediately, and come in for dinner ;) Anyway! We’re looking for a server to get out there on the floor with our amazing team, and help provide the outstanding level of service we’ve become known for since we opened in 2016.

Mission is definitely a more fun environment than your typical restaurant. Members of our service staff are encouraged to let their personalities shine through and engage with guests in a more relaxed, conversational style, while still hitting all the steps of service.

Previous service experience is a must, and the ideal candidate would thrive in a busy environment. We have a modern Mexican menu of tacos and snacks, with a beverage program that’s focused primarily on agave spirits. Candidates would need to commit that menu to memory, (including all ingredients and allergy information) and be able to confidently and capably sell those items tableside.

Mission is a pooled house, so being a team player is a must. You’ll be working in sections that are yours to manage directly, but everyone is expected to help beyond their sections with every step of service: from running food, bussing tables and serving drinks. To be considered for this role, you should be available for 3-5 shifts in the evenings. Mission is open Tuesday through Saturday, and weekend availability is a must. Shifts typically range from 5-8 hours per night.

Responsibilities

• Number 1, is providing top tier hospitable service to all our guests
• Servers must demonstrate knowledge of all food and beverage menus in detail, including recipes, allergen information, and possible modifications
• Presentation is everything: Serving food and drink in a manner that celebrates all the craft and care that went into making it
• Ability to troubleshoot issues tableside, maintain control of your section, and all the tables within it
• Meets sales expectations and follows proper money handling and reporting
• Be able to learn and master all applicable technology with POS systems, i.e. Toast, Resy, and DoorDash.

Skills

• Experience as a Server in a restaurant setting for 2 years or more
• Contributes to a positive and proactive culture in the restaurant; builds and maintains positive relationships with guests and other industry professionals
• Multi-taskers, please apply
• Excellent troubleshooting abilities; remain calm and professional in a fast-paced work environment
• Understanding of hygiene and food safety rules.
• ServSafe or RAMP training is a plus
• Physical ability and stamina to carry heavy trays, lift ~40 pounds, and stand for long hours
• Availability to work flexible shifts, including weekends and holidays

Pay: $35.00 - $45.00 per hour
