The Revenue Cycle Analyst (RCA) provides support for all day-to-day revenue cycle processes and procedures. The RCA will support the Revenue Cycle Manager and partner with the departmental and corporate staff to work on billing issues, claims resolution, and payment applications. The RCA will perform remote banking reconciliations, and accounting tasks. The RCA will ensure all billing and receivables are recorded accurately for all services provided. The RCA will work closely with the Revenue Cycle Manager on monthly reporting of reconciliation of revenue, receivables and uncollectible or un-billable services.
Essential Duties and Functions
- Create or run reports to analyze billing and accounts receivable trends and keep the Revenue Cycle Manager and Director of Revenue informed as to the progress, results, and conclusions reached in regards to:
- Timely billing of services
- Collection of services billed
- Aging of outstanding accounts receivable
- Unauthorized services
- Write-offs or adjustments resulting from payor denials or rejections
- Utilize data analysis and standardized reporting techniques to report progress and troubleshoot problems.
- Support the Revenue Cycle Manager in the review of aged accounts receivable including making inquiries and documenting and communicating collection issues or concerns with management, and leadership.
- Work throughout the organization and partner with others to review Electronic Health Records (EHR) and billing procedures including Admission’s and Census functions, ensure compliance with Billing and EHR requirements or guidelines, and make recommendations for improvements.
- Complete and report on adjustments in billing and write-off’s.
- Perform Cash Application.
- Support the department with compliance audits.
- Support with Monthly Bank Reconciliations.
- Review incoming payments through the online banking process.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 4 years work experience with billing and accounts receivable for healthcare and/or mental health.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills.
- 1 year of experience with Netsmart Avatar application
- Proven track record for solving problems.
- Ability to establish priorities, multi-task, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced open environment with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent analytical skills and the ability to utilize multiple sources of information to determine solutions.
- Strong verbal and interpersonal communication skills; ability to interact with all levels of staff.
