Position Summary:
The Senior Director of Software Engineering will oversee the software engineering department, ensuring the design, development, and implementation of our software solutions align with our business goals. This role requires a strategic leader who can collaborate with cross-functional teams, mentor engineering talent, and drive the development of high-quality, scalable products.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and manage the software engineering department, including setting the vision, planning, execution, and delivery of software projects.
  • Develop and implement engineering strategies that align with the company’s objectives and market needs.
  • Foster a culture of innovation, excellence, and continuous improvement within the engineering team.
  • Collaborate with IT leadership, IT PMO, and other stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered on time and meet quality standards.
  • Mentor and develop a high-performing engineering team, providing guidance and leadership to senior engineers and managers.
  • Oversee the architectural decisions and ensure the scalability, reliability, and security of our software solutions.
  • Manage the engineering budget, resource allocation, and prioritization of projects.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices to drive technological advancements and competitive edge.
  • Drive the adoption of software engineering best practices across the organization, including agile development, CI/CD, and DevOps principles.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with external partners, vendors, and the wider technology community.
Qualifications:
  • Proven track record of leading the development and delivery of large-scale software projects.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical, strategic thinking, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Experience with agile methodologies and a deep understanding of software development processes.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  • Strong mentoring and team development skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of software architecture, scalability, reliability, and security best practices.
  • Experience managing budgets, resource allocation, and project prioritization.
  • A proactive approach to staying updated with industry trends and technologies.
