Afterschool Counselor 2024-2025
Summary: The Mississippi Children’s Museum is looking for energetic, outgoing individuals who want to work in a fun, educational, fast-paced environment helping bring out superior afterschool experiences. This individual must provide a high profile, enthusiastic presence, engage children in proper play, and help keep museum galleries tidy and clean during rotations, including resetting after museum guests as needed. This is a part-time position from 2:30 to 5:30 most weekdays, requiring approximately 15 hours of commitment per week.

· Monday-Friday, 2:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. most weeks following the Jackson Public School District schedule. The school calendar may dictate some specific day changes.
· There one evening event a month:
o Parent Nights – October 22, 2024, and April 22. 2025
o All Museum Staff – November 21, 2024, February TBD, and May 22, 2025
o Department Meetings typically 4th Thursday of the month – August 22, 2024, September 26, 2024, December 12, 2024, January 23, 2025, March 27, 2025, and May 15, 2025
The Mississippi Children’s Museum is a 501(C)(3) organization with the mission to create unparalleled experiences to inspire excellence and a lifelong joy of learning.
Management reserves the right to modify, delete, and/or add additional expectations to meet the needs of the Mississippi Children’s Museum as necessary.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $12.50 - $13.50 per hour
