Supervisor of Clinical Services (Full-Time / Urology / Columbia, MO)

Urology Associates of Central Missouri is currently seeking a Supervisor of Clinical Services to coordinate all activities related to clinical functions and patient care within budgetary constraints. The successful candidate will adhere to national and company standards and guidelines for specialty regulations while supervising clinical staff that provides professional clinical care to patients. This position requires the ability to recognize the physical, psychological, and spiritual aspects of care. The Supervisor of Clinical Services must also support and adhere to the US Oncology Compliance Program, including the Code of Ethics and Business Standards.

This is a full-time position, Monday through Friday, from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, located at Urology Associates of Central Missouri, 105 Keene Street, Columbia, MO 65201.

Responsibilities:
  • Clinical Oversight
    • Oversees the clinical operations for all clinical support activities for 4 Urologists and 3 Advanced Practice Providers.
    • Supervises 14 clinical staff including LPNs, Procedure Techs, Medical Assistants, Surgery / Outpatient Scheduling, and Lab Technician
    • Establishes and maintains all clinical personnel files and ensures all licensing and certification criteria are met.
    • Assists with the review and revision of clinical policies and procedures.
  • Ensure adequate staffing/FTEs for assigned clinics
    • Maintains effective clinical staff coverage and operating costs for the practice and/or satellites within budgetary parameters.
    • Participates in the interviewing and recruiting of clinical personnel.
    • Performs tasks assigned to staff as necessary.
    • Demonstrates working knowledge of applicable labor laws and schedules and coordinates employee staffing, including PTO and overtime.
  • Ensure clinical operations and practice consistent with organizational objectives
    • Monitors and evaluates patient satisfaction and quality assurance measures.
    • Directs the correct use of charge codes and coordinates education of all staff in correct procedures per reimbursement guidelines.
    • Develops new services and activities for patients, families, and staff in accordance with practice service objectives.
  • Staff Development
    • Implements staff retention and training programs with support from clinic leads.
    • Coordinates, implements, and assists with staff training, in-services, and internal developmental programs for clinical staff.
    • Assists with annual performance evaluations for clinical team.
    • Serves as a mentor/preceptor and provides day-to-day guidance to less experienced staff.
Qualifications:
  • Education/Training for RN candidates:
    • Graduation from an accredited school of clinical, BSN, or MSN is required.
    • Possession of an RN state license and current registration with the State Board of Clinical in the practicing state is necessary.
    • Current CPR certification is a mandatory requirement.
  • Education/Training for LPN candidates:
    • Graduation from an accredited school for practical nursing is mandatory.
    • Possession of a current LPN state license and registration with the State Board of Practical Nursing in the practicing state is necessary.
    • Current BCLS certification is a required qualification.
  • Business Experience:
    • A minimum of five years of active practice as a registered nurse or licensed practical nurse is essential.
    • One year of leadership experience is preferred.
  • Specialized Knowledge/Skills Urology :
    • - Proficiency in urology is a specialized knowledge/skill that is desired for the position.

Working Conditions

  • Environment: Traditional office environment. Exposure to communicable diseases, toxic substances, medical preparations, and other conditions common to a urology clinic environment.

Physical Requirements

  • Large percent of time performing computer-based work is required.
  • Requires full range of body motion, including handling and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity, and eye-hand coordination.
  • Requires standing and walking for extensive periods of time.
  • Occasionally lifts and carries items weighing up to 40 lbs.
  • Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.
