Purpose: Reporting to the Operations Director, our Event Coordinator will plan, coordinate and implement donor and volunteer engagement strategies.
Primary Responsibilities and Duties:
-Develop and implement a comprehensive engagement strategy to provide year-round volunteer, fundraising and recognition events in an effort to create broad support for and awareness of the organization.
-Work with leadership to develop a calendar detailing activities and events for the campaign.
-Plan, implement and promote campaign and year-round events, including but not limited to the Crosstown Brewdown, Day of Caring, Coins for a Cause, Giving Tree, Annual Meeting, Online Auction, NALC Food Drive, Day of Action, Community Conversations, events for Affinity Groups, booths, and other special events and activities.
-Lead the recruitment, training, supervision and retention of volunteers to ensure quality experiences. Manage, promote and enhance www.VolunteerBisMan.org.
-Assist with the coordination of the United Way Backpack Program, Little Black Dress Poverty Awareness Campaign, Center for Opportunity, and other events and activities, as assigned.
-Develop/cultivate new and existing donors and event/program sponsors. Participate in calling on key accounts. Assist in developing the engagement strategy.
-Responsible for overall event and engagement analysis and develop recommendations for future improvement.
-Attend networking opportunities throughout the year. Live and represent the United Way mission, vision and values.
-Other duties as assigned.
Primary Performance Measurements:
Successful annual special events Volunteer recruitment and retention
Effectiveness of communications materials, brand management, and media relationships. Adherence to operating budget in those areas of direct responsibility.
Project Management
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in business administration, communications or related field; 2 years of experience in event planning, fundraising, or volunteer management preferred. Strong organizational, public relations and communication skills. Creative and results-oriented self-starter. Ability to manage multiple projects at one time. Positive attitude. Sound judgment, discretion and commitment to maintaining donor confidentiality. Proficient in the use of technology. Must possess a valid driver’s license.
