What are the responsibilities and job description for the Instructor NT (Entertainment Management) -9 month appt position at Missouri State University?
The Instructor NT is a non-tenure track position with responsibilities to teach full-time and to provide appropriate service. The Instructor NT may participate in research or creative activities.
Description of Primary Duties
The successful candidate will primarily teach undergraduate-level entertainment management courses; secondary teaching assignments in management-related classes (e.g., Principles of Management) may be at the undergraduate or graduate level. The standard teaching load is 12 hours per semester (four courses). Candidates will also support the success of our Entertainment Management Association, one of the College’s signature student organizations, serve as an ex officio member of the Entertainment Management (Alumni) Advisory Council, and meet university service requirements. All candidates must be committed to working for the professional success of all students.
An earned terminal degree or the degree required for teaching in certain disciplines is required. Potential or demonstrated teaching ability is required. A willingness to serve the academic unit, college, and the University is required.
Successful candidates will hold a master’s degree in business, entertainment management, or a closely related field from an AACSB-accredited institution and have 3 years of significant experience in the entertainment industry or a closely related field. Candidates must have experience teaching at the undergraduate and/or graduate levels and must be committed to working for the professional success of all students.
