This position is contingent on continued grant funding.
Multiple positions will be hired for a variety of research projects / emphasis areas. The work associated with this position will have an emphasis in the flowing areas depending on the project: physics, materials science, chemistry, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, and/or chemical engineering.
The projects will be focused on nano-materials/nanotechnology, printed electronics, carbon composites, chemical vapor deposition techniques, analytical chemistry, synthetic chemistry, and non-destructive evaluation techniques such as CT scanning for materials testing.
The work associated with this position will have an emphasis in the following work areas/techniques: scanning electron microscopy (SEM), atomic force microscopy (AFM), confocal microcopy, physical vapor deposition (PVD), chemical vapor deposition (CVD), atomic layer deposition (ALD), vacuum technology, inkjet printing, machine vision systems, micro/nano lithography, dynamic light scattering/zeta potential (DLS/ZP), UV-VIS spectroscopy, Raman spectroscopy, x-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), x-ray diffraction (XRD), thermogravimetric analysis (TGA), inductively coupled plasma (ICP) - optical or atomic emission spectrometry (OES/AES), mass spectrometry (MS), ion chromatography (IC), high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC), atomic absorption spectrometry (AAS), ellipsometry, nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR), Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), electrochemistry techniques, ultracentrifugation, surface energy analysis (contact angle), rheology, fluorescence spectroscopy, microwave synthesis and digestion, electrical characterization (IV, frequency, dielectrics-CV), prototyping (3D printing), laser machining, mechanical testing, carbon composites braiding and hand layup, AutoCAD and software programming (C/X , JAVA, Python G-code or LabView).
