Your Mission...This position is responsible for supervising the QMS system and team of Quality Inspectors supporting manufacturing and sales with primary emphasis to ensure parts meet customer specification and MCAM quality standards through development and implementation of quality control tests, inspections at various stages in production, documentation of findings, and escalating issues when needed. Ensure a safe workplace as well as a clean and orderly quality area.
What You Will Do...
  • Supervise the Quality lab team across two shifts.
  • Strong working knowledge of measurement techniques and the use of calipers, micrometers, height gauges, bore gauges, optical comparators, gauge pins, gauge blocks and other inspection equipment.
  • Perform inspections using precision measurement equipment and devices.
  • Documents nonconforming product IAW company directives.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, solid models, and apply GD&T as required.
  • Have a thorough understanding of machining processes to support communications of findings to the production floor.
  • Be the technical expert with regards to appropriate testing and measurement tools; ability to analyze results.
  • Devise, review, and approve specifications for products or processes.
  • Manage the QMS system; develop and execute improvements, monitor activities and ensure compliance.
  • Participate in internal and external quality audits.
  • Work with internal and external customers to provide quality related documentation including FAI, PPAP, etc.
  • Focus on the daily customer and process-related issues to improve quality, on-time delivery, and process efficiencies.
  • Ability to participate in customer interface to present status.
  • Responsible for maintaining calibration records and communicating with outside suppliers of calibration services to ensure all instruments are up to date.
  • Support continuous improvement and elimination of waste from processes and methods.
  • Experience with customer portals for uploading quality documents.
  • Performs PPAPs and FAI’s; complete related documentation as required.
  • Ability to program, make changes, and run product on CMMs and interpret results and determine product conformity.
  • Ability to effectively demonstrate team member competencies and participate in goal setting, performance feedback, and self-development activities; train/develop Quality team across two shifts to optimize department effectiveness.
  • Ability to work with cross functional teams to solve problems.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Use basic statistical techniques for evaluation of measurement data and trending.
  • Organizational skills with the ability to manage numerous projects and priorities in fast-paced environment with competing deadlines.
  • Must work independently with limited supervision.
  • Complete any other duties as directed by Manager.
What You Will Have...
  • Degree in Engineer or Science related field, highly preferred
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in quality or related quality field.
  • 2 years of experience in manufacturing preferred
  • 2 years supervisor experience preferred.
  • 10-15% travel for training, audits, and customer/supplier visits
  • Experience with ERP systems

The salary range for this position is $68,000-$85,000. Factors such as scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, job-related skills, internal peer equity, as well as market and business considerations may influence base pay offered. This salary will be subject to a geographic adjustment (according to a specific city and state), if an authorization is granted to work outside of the location listed in this posting.
