Summary of the Role:
Join Mitsubishi Motors North America (MMNA) as a Senior Tax Analyst and embark on an exciting career journey! We seek a talented individual to manage federal and state tax compliance, including income, franchise, property taxes, and more for MMNA and its subsidiaries. You'll play a crucial role in researching and analyzing tax issues, supporting our finance team, and ensuring compliance and accuracy in tax preparation and reporting. Responsibilities:
Tax Preparation, Analysis and Returns
  • Review and prepare monthly tax account reconciliations and journal entries.
  • Manage consolidated federal, pro forma, and state tax returns, along with supporting schedules like tax depreciation reports.
  • Handle federal and state estimated tax payments and extensions with precision.
  • Prepare federal excise tax, state licenses, and property tax renditions.
  • Ensure timely payment of assessed property taxes.
  • Conduct in-depth research and reconciliation of tax depreciation keys, tax basis, additions, disposals, and limitations; report findings and coordinate SAP updates.
  • Prepare tax refund claims, maintain comprehensive tax records, and create detailed tax reports.
  • Oversee the seamless annual rollover of Tax Software, ensuring data accuracy.
  • Upload trial balances and timing differences in Tax Software, create new account codes, and ensure alignment with workpapers.
  • Update, maintain, and organize all tax records and filings efficiently.
Compliance, Auditing and Internal Controls
  • Collaborate with multiple departments to ensure compliance with federal laws, including 1099 reporting, Forms 8300, 1042, FINCEN, and other tax requirements.
  • Manage the tax calendar and critical deadlines, ensuring timely and accurate compliance.
  • Review, research, and respond to correspondence and notices from federal and state tax authorities, showcasing your problem-solving skills.
  • Assist in federal, state, and local income, franchise, and property tax audits, gaining valuable audit experience.
  • Support internal and external tax audits, ensuring adherence to internal controls and compliance standards.
Information, Research and Reporting
  • Prepare consolidated monthly and year-end income tax provisions and journal entries, playing a key role in our financial integrity.
  • Craft detailed tax footnote schedules for MMNA and parent company financial statements, showcasing your expertise.
  • Produce comprehensive year-end, monthly, audit, and internal reports for MMC, demonstrating your analytical skills.
  • Assist in responding to ad-hoc requests from MMC and other departments, becoming a vital resource across the organization.
Required Qualifications:
  • 4 years of professional-level corporate tax experience as a Tax Accountant/Analyst or equivalent position preparing combined and consolidated federal and state income tax returns and indirect tax returns.
  • BS/BA in Accounting/Business/Finance or related field.
  • Experience in deferred tax accounting and knowledge of GAAP requirements related to tax issues.
  • Proficient in Microsoft products such as Excel, Word, Teams and Outlook.
Profile Differentiators:
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) status.
  • Advanced knowledge of Corptax or equivalent tax return preparation software

Pay Transparency:
The base salary for this position ranges between $70,000 to $85,000. The base salary will be based on a number of factors including the role offered, the individual's job-related knowledge, skills, and qualifications. In addition to base salary, we are proud to offer a comprehensive and competitive benefits package for all eligible employees which also includes 401k with company match, Mitsubishi Lease Program, and a full range of medical, financial, and other perks and benefits.
