Mitsubishi Power Americas, Inc. in Savannah, Georgia is looking for a Senior Continuous Improvement Manager.SummaryProvide leadership and management for all continuous improvement programs and projects for factory and support teams. Implement process improvements using effective planning practices through the application of Lean Manufacturing and standard industrial engineering tools Oversee the management of Power IB reporting, the creation of Power Apps, and all improvement efforts within the shop to support data driven decision-making and process automation. Motivate and gain consensus among team members to achieve common goals and demonstrate a strong customer service focus.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
      • Work with team, leadership, and key stakeholders to set continuous improvement strategy for factory and support teams in alignment with NAM and factory goals along with product cost and cycle improvement objectives.
      • Lead continuous improvement team Lean projects for continuous improvement results that can be leveraged across plants, functions, and product lines.
      • Establish and manage all continuous improvement projects for the shop.
      • Prepare and present reports on the progress and outcomes of continuous improvement projects to stakeholders.
      • Establish continuous improvement priorities and target completion dates for all improvement projects under the guidance of the NAM and factory leadership team.
      • Plan, organize and provide follow up to Kaizen improvement events targeted towards increasing operational performance consistent with the business plan and direction from the factory leadership team.
      • Lead both direct and indirect teams as necessary to meet all business requirements.
      • Analyze current processes, identify inefficiencies, and develop strategic plans for process improvement.
      • Demonstrate a strong customer service focus in all continuous improvement initiatives.
      • Mentor work teams to teach and expand the basic knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and the Continuous Improvement philosophy. This includes the auditing, training, and administering of programs such as 6S, TPM, MST, BBS, FPY, Productivity Improvement, Standard Work, and Standard Work Combination Sheets.
      • Support the visual factory inclusive of communications plan, monitoring of product flow, and the ongoing review of progress to set targets.
      • Ensures that CI training, tools, test practices and resources are available to employees at all levels and are being utilized appropriately and effectively.
      • Ensure effective communication at all levels of the entire organization regarding strategy, plans, events, and results of improvement initiatives and production schedules.
      • Coach the process of developing and deploying effective standard work practices across the plant. Share and reapply proven methods from other locations as appropriate. Communicate such changes promptly to all to ensure consistency.
      • Support Manufacturing by providing continuous improvement support for work and process instructions.
      • Facilitate and co-facilitate various CI related workshops and training events for NAM. Teach the concepts and coach the factory teams to see and eliminate waste.
      • Lead voice of the floor programs to implement ideas and drive engagement from shop floor teams.
      • Capture projects from other NAM groups such as facilities, engineering and PCCI to increase visibility and ability to report on business impacts to leadership team.
      • Ensure process continuity between all NAM facilities.
      • Maintain the knowledge base for all continuous improvement activities.
      • Provide monthly status updates to factory leadership team.
      • Perform other such duties as may be required.

      • Education and/or Experience: Bachelor's degree (BS/BA) a four-year college or university; or at least six (6) years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. At least three (3) to five (5) years of experience leading Lean Transformations in manufacturing operations, educating others on Lean principles and deployment planning.
      • Language Skills: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format. Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.
      • Mathematical Skills: Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts such as exponents, logarithms, quadratic equations, and permutations. Ability to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, sampling theory, and factor analysis.
      • Reasoning Ability: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
      • Computer Skills: Knowledge of database software; project management software; spreadsheet software and word processing software; electronic mail; graphics; technical diagrams; flow charts, etc
