ob Summary :

Perform daily activities of CNC Mill and Lathe machinesetups including 3 4 and 5 axis machines recommend and selectcutting tools training Level I & II machinist to run partsand to solve nonconformance and / or near tolerance limit conditionsas notified.

Essential DutiesResponsibilities Competency and Qualifications :

Duties Responsibilities andSuccess Factors :

  • Modifyprograms adjust (tool offsets etc.) to new and established jobfiles.
  • Setup CNC Mills and Lathes with 1starticle inspection. Includes boring jaws reviewing and verifyingprogram and blueprints ability to maintain close tolerances(withing .

0005 ) and install and indicate all toolsaccurately indicate fixtures and make offsets and tool offsets. Useof Marposs probing CoBots and 3 D Printing

  • Verification of parts by measuring firstrun part andsample work pieces; AS9100 experience required.
  • Reads and interprets blueprints planning sheets sketchesand related technical data to determine operating procedures andhave knowledge of the manufacturing sequences and machining methodsrequired.
  • Operate equipment at a rate thatequals or exceeds quality and efficiency standards as noted on thetraveler keeping up with KPI’s.

Knowledge of CNC Millsand CNC Lathes.

  • Monitor cutting tools inmachine spindle and notifies shop floor manager / foreman of toolwear and / or tolerance problems
  • Starts machineand monitors display and machine operation to detectmalfunction
  • Change cutting tool and adjustcoolant direction according to required machining sequence or tomeasure for conformance to blueprint specifications using precisionmeasuring instruments
  • Notifies shop floormanager / shop foreman of any potential machine or tool problems andmalfunctions or outoftolerance machining.

Cleans machine tools andparts

  • Communicate and interpret technicalinstructions in mathematical or diagram form. Communicateeffectively with team members and shop floor manager / shop foremanto problem solve instruct and coordinate activities
  • Responsible for proper use operation and care of alltools tooling and inspection equipment. Must adhere to companypolicy and procedures.
  • Through inspection(visual and mechanical) of parts as specified by Inspection Planand / or Blueprint.
  • Other duties asassigned.

Qualifications :

  • Knowledge of HAAS and Doosan mill andlathes
  • 35 years’ experience setupand operating CNC mills / lathes
  • Skilled use ofFeeds and Speeds
  • Strong math skills includinggeometry and precise part counts
  • StrongKnowledge of blueprint planning sheets and inspectiontools
  • Organizational skills with a strongattention to detail
  • SelfStarter with theability to multitask prioritize and carry out daily workassignments
  • Fluent in English with the abilityto communicate technical instructions.
  • GibbsCAM a plus

Education / Experience :

High school diploma or general education degree(GED)

Exceptional in math (Algebra geometry andsome trigonometry)

LanguageAbility :

Ability to read and interpretdocuments such as safety rules operating and maintenanceinstructions and procedure manuals. Ability to write detailedtechnical instructions.

MathAbility :

Strong math skills addsubtract multiply and divide in all units of measure using wholenumbers common fractions and decimals.

Reasoning Ability :

Ability to apply common senseunderstanding to carry out instructions furnished in written oralor diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving severalconcrete variables in standardized situations.

Computer Skills :

Basic computer skills / knowledge required.

Certificates and Licenses :

No certifications needed

Supervisory Responsibilities :

This job is supervising Level I andII machinists for training and support.
