The growing family of MG Restaurants Inc is searching for a talented Staff Accountant to join our office team!

As our Staff Accountant, you would play an integral part in our small-but-capable Finance team. This position reports into our Controller and is assisted by a part-time AP Clerk. The Staff Accountant would interface with our operations team to ensure accurate and timely entries are made into our various software platforms. Additionally, the Staff Accountant should be able to perform analysis and critical thinking when asked for specific data or to troubleshoot any issues that arise.

This position is full-time office-based in our Downtown San Francisco headquarters.

What you will be responsible for:

• Full Cycle AP for multiple locations and corporate entities with help from AP clerk and automated software systems
• Bank Reconciliation Daily and Monthly
• Daily Sales Summary audit for restaurant sales, tips, and cash deposits
• Weekly COGS review analysis by location
• Expense Reimbursement audit and entry
• Manual payroll checks for termed employees
• Landlord Sales reporting for percentage rent payment calculation
• Calculation and Submission of Sales Tax to state entities – Monthly prepayment and quarterly true-up
• Monthly Worker’s Comp Insurance calculation
• Assist in Month End Close reporting and analysis
• Ad-Hoc reporting as needed in Excel for cost or vendor analysis

Requirements:

• 2 years of Accounting experience 
• BS in Accounting or a related field
• Ability to work at our SF office M-F

Software used: Restaurant365, Plate IQ, Tallie, Google platforms, BofA web portals, Asana, Paycom and Slack.
