MJR Resources, Inc. is Hiring a VP Finance and Accounting Near Dallas, TX

The VP of Accounting and Finance will be responsible for overseeing and managing all financial activities, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting, and providing strategic financial insights to support the company’s growth and vision. This is a hands-on role requiring both strategic and tactical involvement in the day-to-day accounting and finance functions. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting and finance, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to thrive in a small and dynamic team environment. We are looking for a a passionate leader with a customer service focused mindset to align with our culture.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and manage the company’s financial operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger and payroll.
  • Develop, monitor, and update annual budgets, forecasts, and financial plans.
  • Prepare and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP.
  • Establish and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure financial data integrity.
  • Monitor cash flow, manage banking relationships, and optimize working capital.
  • Coordinate and manage audits, tax filings, and company with regulations and standards.
  • Analyze and manage operational costs, identifying opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements.
  • Provide ongoing financial analysis and insights to support strategic decision-making and business development initiatives.
  • Lead, develop, and mentor accounting and finance team, fostering a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and professional development.
  • Oversee and support the implementation and enhancement of financial systems and processes to improve accuracy and efficiency.
  • Communicate financial performance and strategies to senior management.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or MBA preferred
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in accounting and finance with at least 4 years in a managerial role
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting
  • Proven experience in budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to explain complex financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders.
  • Experience with mergers & acquisitions and integration
  • Proficient in financial software and systems; experience with ERP systems preferred (NetSuite strongly preferred).
  • High level of integrity, dependability, and a hands-on approach to work.
  • Ability to work effectively in a small team environment and manage multiple priorities.
