MKD Electric is seeking an experienced PLC Engineer. As part of this role…

A PLC Engineer is responsible for providing installation, preventative maintenance, repair services, and commissioning support on Critical Infrastructure Electrical and Mechanical Building Monitoring systems. The PLC Engineer is required to have a basic understanding of mechanical and electrical systems and components, as well as a fundamental understanding of the tools and processes required to complete PLC programming installation and troubleshooting.
A
PLC Engineer is responsible for delivering high quality service and customer satisfaction, as well as, working well with the team and providing support/coverage as per business needs.

What you will do…

Installation and Configuration:

·Oversee end-to-end system installation, encompassing checkout, integration, testing, and commissioning.

·Configuring PLC programs to control machinery and processes.

Troubleshooting and Maintenance:

·Diagnosing issues with PLCs, sensors, and actuators.

·Manage Predictive Maintenance Verification (PMV) and provide ongoing support.

·Perform flashing activities on IPCs, HMIs, PLCs, and other components.

·Debugging faulty logic and communication errors.

Programming and Logic Design:

·Writing, modifying, and testing PLC programs.

·Designing logical sequences for automation tasks.

System Integration:

·Integrating PLCs with other control systems (e.g., SCADA, HMI).

·Ensuring seamless communication between devices.

Safety Compliance:

·Adhering to safety protocols during installation and maintenance.

·Implementing emergency shutdown procedures.

Documentation and Reporting:

·Keeping detailed records of changes, repairs, and upgrades.

·Reporting system performance and suggesting improvements.

Collaboration:

·Working closely with engineers, electricians, and maintenance teams.

·Providing technical support to the customer.

What you will need to succeed…

·B.S. in an engineering-related discipline (preferred in Mechanical, Electrical engineering, Computer Science) or 2 to 3 years of engineering, construction and/or technical project experience.

·2 to 3 years of Field service experience – working with industrial instrumentation, onsite point to point controls validation and working knowledge with preferably any of the following programs/software: Rockwell Factory Talk; Tridium; Schneider Electric: Powerlogic/Struxureware; Siemens: Apogee; Ignition: Inductive Automation; Eaton Networks; Field Servers; Jace Controllers; Modbus RTU/TCP; Bacnet; Niagara.

·Experience in the mission critical sector is highly valued.

·Knowledge and experience with the Power User Level of Windows and the associated skillset.

  • Proficiency in PLC programming, HMI development, and SCADA creation.

·Understand electrical and mechanical schematic diagrams, control diagrams, prints, MOP-building operations, understanding of electrical theory, chiller control circuits and Industrial HVAC systems.

·Working knowledge of PLC, DDC, HMI, Contactor, Relay, Drives and any electrical components related to mechanical and electrical system controls.

·Must have excellent communication and collaboration skills, ability to work in a fast-paced environment, be organized, and have good problem-solving skills.
