Join MLee Healthcare, an independent rural healthcare provider located near Springfield, MO, and be part of a team committed to excellence in healthcare. We're currently seeking a dedicated individual for the position of:

Lead POC Clinical Laboratory Scientist

Scheduled Hours: 80 hours per pay period - Night shift

Job Summary:

As a Lead Clinical Laboratory Scientist at MLee Healthcare, you'll play a crucial role in performing routine duties directed by our Laboratory Manager. Conduct chemical, microscopic, serologic, hematologic, immunohematologic, parasitic, and bacteriologic tests to provide essential data for treatment and disease diagnosis.

Education Background and Experience:

  • Minimum Education: Bachelor of Science degree in Medical Technology, Chemistry, or Biology.
  • Required Certification: Certification/Licensure as a Medical Lab Scientist by ASCP (American Society for Clinical Pathology) or equivalent.

Professional Requirements:

  • Maintain regulatory requirements.
  • Report to work on time and as scheduled, completing work within designated timelines.
  • Demonstrate commitment to the mission, ethics, and goals of MLee Healthcare.
  • Effective communication with patients, guests, and staff in a courteous, respectful, and helpful manner.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Ability to function in all areas of the clinical laboratory, including blood bank, chemistry, hematology, microbiology, serology/immunology, urinalysis, and coagulation.
  • Stay informed on new testing methods, products, and instrumentation.
  • Perform high-complexity testing and manage laboratory equipment safely and correctly.
  • Follow Standard Precautions and infection control procedures.
  • Perform quality control checks on equipment, calibrations, and troubleshoot out-of-range results.
  • Notify patient care units and physicians of critical lab values.
