Legal Assistant
Our legal team is looking at add an experienced Legal Assistant who understands the nuances of trial preparation. They will play a pivotal role in supporting the legal team in trial preparation, including document organization and preparation, requesting documentation, and day-to-day support. Your expertise and attention to detail will be imperative in supporting our mission of delivering top-tier legal services. We are a fast-paced trial law firm, so prior secretarial experience in a law firm working to take cases to trial is a must.
Responsibilities:
· Document preparation: Assist in the preparation of legal documents ensuring accuracy. Draft, review, and manage legal discovery. Request medical documents are required.
· Brief editing: Review and edit legal briefs with accuracy and adherence to formatting guidelines.
· Case management: Organize and maintain case files. Index documents. Track deadlines. Manage correspondence in a professional manner.
· Legal research: Conduct legal research on relevant statues, regulations and case law to support case strategy and argumentation.
· Client Communication: Regularly communicate with clients, witnesses, and other parties.
· Calendar management and administrative tasks: Manage calendar for legal team by scheduling meetings, identifying conflicts and resolving them quickly. Schedule travel accommodations, as needed. Process case-related mail.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
· 5 years of experience in a fast-paced law firm as legal assistant or paralegal required.
· Litigation experience in a plaintiff-focused injury practice required.
· Demonstrated efficiency and proficiency in Microsoft suite.
· Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
· Strong technical aptitude with a can-do attitude.
· Attention to detail, organization, and ability to handle highly confidential information.
· Ability to work onsite at office daily.
