We are looking for a talented, dynamic, and warm General Manager that will oversee operations at two of Austin's most beloved dining destinations.

Partners Ron & Peggy Weiss and Jeff Weinberger opened **Jeffreys** in 1975 to bring a simple caf to the quiet, historic Clarksville neighborhood in Austin.

Completely re-imagined & renovated in 2012 by the MML team, Jeffrey's boasts beautiful dining rooms, classic fine dining, wood-fired steaks, and one of the state's best wine programs. The charming neighborhood location, old-world service & multiple private dining options make Jeffrey's a true Austin gem. Jeffrey's was named Top 10 Best New Restaurants in the country by Bon Appetit magazine in 2013.

**Josephine House**, the sister restaurant to Austin institution Jeffreys opened in 2013 and offers breakfast, lunch, brunch, happy hour, dinner & Monday Steak Frites night.

The Clarksville cottage features a small marble bar for coffee or cocktails, intimate tables in the dining room, shady nooks on our patio, and a grassy front lawn for lounging. The chefs prepare an eclectic daily menu featuring the best locally sourced produce. A bustling weekend brunch now spills out onto the front lawn.

**Overview of the Role:** The General Manager of Jeffrey's and the Josephine House will have strong leadership qualities and run both properties with a real sense of ownership and pride. We are looking for a leader who brings years of experience in fine dining and understands how to convey that level of expectation to our employees. This manager should take joy in sharing their expertise by training others and developing more junior managers. We have high expectations for our guest's overall experience, and someone who brings a passion for food, wine, and service will excel in this role. This role also requires a strong background in financial analysis and the ability to make informed choices about to best run these successful businesses.

**Essential Duties and Responsibilities***

* Consistently provide a beautiful product and customer service experience

* Elevate the guest experience by acting as an owner and matre d'

* Build and maintain strong relationships with regular guests and help build new long-term diners

* Ensure all employees are trained, mentored, and equipped to deliver service to our expectations

* Recruit, hire, and develop employees that possess a positive attitude and enthusiasm for learning more

* Serve as a role model and set a positive example for the entire team in all aspects of business and personnel management

* Effectively implement training and new hire orientation for our employees

* Develop existing employees to prepare them for promotion through regular feedback and reviews

* Hold the employees accountable for performance - using progressive disciplinary procedures and setting clear expectations through training and handbooks

* Utilize labor effectively to meet budgets

* Ability to run the property where meal periods overlap and often events happen in two private dining spaces simultaneously

* Oversee accurate payroll, gratuity, timekeeping, and cash handling on the compound.

* Maintain and constituency look to improve upon training manuals and steps of service to maintain a culture of best in class service

* Act as the steward of the multi-unit facility, communicating promptly when issues arise, and maintaining a schedule of regular preventative maintenance

* Recruiting, Hiring, Training and annual performance evaluations of hourly managers/supervisors, FOH Floor Managers, and Beverage Managers

*Must be able to lift 40 lbs and stand for extended periods of time
