Our experienced team provides reliable network solutions for IIoT applications, safety, and security applications, including fiber optic backbone and industrial wireless.Our extensive list of telecommunications and security solutions includes physical security, video surveillance, CCTV, access control, gates/turnstiles & barriers, Intrusion Detection, LAN/WAN Design & Configuration, Wireless (WiFi, Microwave, Mesh), Public Address & General Alarm (PAGA), VIOP, and Structured Cabling & Fiber Optics.Job Description:MMR Communications is seeking entry-level Estimator candidates with a degree in Construction Management, Electrical Engineering, or industry related equivalent. The responsibilities would include, but not limited to, the following:
Participating in initial estimating training for 3 months or more in the Baton Rouge, LA office
Prepare complete and accurate takeoffs with no errors or omissions
Develop, submit, and obtain answers to requests for information (RFIs) during bid process
Develop comprehensive bill of materials (BOMs) that covers entire electrical and instrumentation scope of work
Use estimating software to keep information neat and organized, tabulate results, complete mathematical equations and communicate financial information to customers
Prepare and solicit quotes (RFQs) from vendors and subs
Review vendor and sub proposals/quotes to ensure they have a complete and comprehensive scope covered
Review specifications and use checklist to ensure estimate is 100% compliant
Review plans and drawings for complete project (not just electrical) to ensure scope of work is covered
Submission of bid proposal by customer deadlines
Maintain neat and organized filing system containing all documents and information used for estimate (electronic)
Prepare project turnover package on all awarded projects
Implementation of MMR’s estimating practices and procedures
The above is not an exhaustive list of duties and you will be expected to perform different tasks as needed to align with the overall business objectives of the organization
Required Skills and Qualifications:
BS degree in Construction Management, Electrical Engineering, or related field or an equivalent relevant work experience
Experience in estimating is preferred
Ability to work independently, prioritize, organize, problem solve, and exercise good judgement with minimal supervision
Ability to coordinate a variety of project simultaneously
Ability to demonstrate flexibility and creativity
Must have knowledge in estimating courses
Working knowledge of MS Office software
Strong organizational and interpersonal skills are required
Able to work effectively under time pressure and/or deadline
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Willingness to work flexible, varying hours, including evenings and weekends as needed
Regular and reliable attendance at work
