MMT is Hiring a Staff Accountant Near Beach, FL

At MMT, our objective is to develop excellence in automation, machine design, material handling, and custom tooling. Each position contributes to the success of the company through accountability, responsiveness, and a solutions-oriented mindset. The Staff Accountant is responsible for assisting in preparing and recording journal entries, performing financial analysis, and participating in third party audits.

JOB DUTIES

Essential Job Functions:

  • Performs daily accounting reconciliation and resolves discrepancies, ensuring all internal and external transactions are accurately recorded in the accounting system.
  • Reconciles bank statements, and credit card statements
  • Works in cooperation with Controller to perform month end accounting close in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Assist with Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable when needed
  • Assists in the year end audit process and other accounting projects as deemed necessary.
  • Performs all other duties as needed to assist the company in attaining its objectives

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

This position is:

  • Continuallyutilize visual acuity to operate equipment, read technical information, and/or use a keyboard
  • Occasionally required to lift/push/carry items less than up to 25 pounds
  • Occasional exposure to wet and/or humid conditions (non-weather)
  • Occasionally work near moving mechanical parts

QUALIFICATIONS

  • An Associate’s Degree in Accounting with coursework in Accounting/Finance PREFERRED.
  • 2 years of experience in General Ledger accounting
  • Proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Office
  • Advanced excel skills including pivot tables and vlookups.
  • Strong financial skills with a basic knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles
  • Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal
  • A professional appearance and customer service oriented
  • Self-motivated with good organizational skills.

WORKING CONDITIONS

This position will require the ability to work under pressing conditions in a professional and responsive manner. Must have a CAN DO attitude to drive projects through to completion, displaying the ability to WORK WITH A PURPOSE and obtain results through an influential demeanor.
