Assignment Start Date: 9/23/2024
Assignment Shift: 3 pm - 11:30 pm and every 3rd weekend. 40 hours GTD. Submissions with RTO will not be considered. The Estimated Weekly Total is based on working the listed hours per week and includes available stipend amounts. Please contact a recruiter for full details. The Medical Lab Technician I or Medical Technologist I provide professional clinical laboratory services, including various laboratory analyses, proficiency testing, quality control, professional consultation, instrument maintenance and validation, specimen collection and management, and other functions to attain these goals.
Roles And Responsibilities

• Assists in the daily operation in all laboratory areas, including routine and STAT testing requests.
• Generalist tech duties include standardized and semi-routine biological, chemical, hematological, immunological, immunohematological, microbiological, and serological tests in a clinical laboratory, but not limited to these.
• May perform phlebotomy and other duties associated with Laboratory Assistant while interacting with patients to demonstrate knowledge and sensitivity appropriate for all patients' ages.
• Responsible for examining human or animal specimens, providing information for diagnosing, preventing, or treating a disease, or assessing a medical condition. This includes the pre-analytic, analytic, and post-analytic phases and all associated clerical duties of such examinations in all departmental areas.

Experience/Education/QualificationExperience:

• Must be able to work in all areas of the clinical laboratory as a generalist. Areas include Hematology, Chemistry, Micro, Blood Bank, and Phlebotomy skills.

Education

• Must have an Associate's Degree in Health Science;
• Bachelor's Degree in Medical Technology or Clinical Lab Science is preferred.

Licenses, Certifications, And/or Registration

• ASCP or HHS.

EMR System: Meditech experience preferred
Orientation: will be the 2nd and 4th Monday of the month** Travelers may only be on assignment for no more than 26 weeks. The initial 13 and then one extension up to 13 weeks. They can reapply/return after one year away
