Mobile Medical Care, Inc., a Federally Qualified Health Center located in Montgomery County, Maryland serving low-income adults, is seeking a full-time Medical Assistant/Phlebotomist who will work at our Germantown clinic, Monday - Friday, 8:30 am - 5:00 pm.
This is an exciting and challenging position in one of the oldest and most respected safety net health clinics in Maryland. This position is for the individual who is interested in providing quality customer service to our patient population who come from over 100 countries.
MUST BE BILINGUAL IN SPANISH AND ENGLISH.
Duties:
1. Conduct initial assessment of patients, including checking vital signs, height, weight, and chief complaint.
2. Conduct other components of nursing assessment under the direction of the RN Nurse Manager.
3. Maintain, manage and keep confidential the electronic medical record for assigned clinic sessions.
4. Conduct intake and registration of new and returning patients. Including all point of care testing and screening.
5. In coordination with other team members, enter patient visit data into the electronic medical record.
6. Make patient appointments, using the electronic appointment calendar.
7. In collaboration with the RN Nurse Manager, participate in case management and navigation activities.
8. Participate in Quality Improvement activities as assigned.
9. Complete EKG’s and nebulization treatments as ordered.
10. Complete ear irrigation under the direction of the RN Nurse Manager.
11. Assist in pelvic exams and office procedures as assigned.
12. Provide interpretation as requested.
13. Provide phlebotomy and injections as ordered. Transport lab specimens to hospital.
14. Provide excellent customer service.
15. Complete incident reports when necessary.
16. Maintain excellent time and attendance.
Qualifications:
1. Formal preparation and certification as a Medical Assistant, with excellent technical skills.
2. Acts appropriately with a multi-cultural population.
3. Bilingual in English/Spanish is required.
4. Proficiency in documenting in an electronic health system.
5. Basic computer skills, keyboarding and ability to perform basic operations with the database.
6. Must provide proof of full COVID-19 vaccination.
7. Well organized, able to prioritize and meet deadlines.
